In an astrological chart,
The Vertex swings like a pendulum that has the Ascendant as its fixed point.
The Vertex only swings through the Western, or right side of the astrological chart.
The Vertex rises and falls at the Sun setting part of the astrological chart, the Descendant.

Considering the Vertex in the Natal Chart
What is the vertex? The vertex is a theoretical point in the heavens where the ecliptic-the apparent orbit of the Sun around the earth-crosses the prime vertical-the plane that runs at right angles to the meridian and divides the celestial sphere from front to back. Already, it sounds fishy. A theoretical point?

The Vertex has a reputation for being a “woo-woo” fated relationship point. That idea never rang true to me. In this article, it would seem to have more to do with calling and career.
